Rhubarb & Pear Crumble Cake

Today, I wanted to share with you this simple recipe for a delicious cake! A Rhubarb and Pear cake with a crumble topping! At first, I was planning to use rhubarb and apples, as I’ve used that combination a lot of times before. But then I realized that there are 3 lonely pears on the kitchen cupboard. So I thought, โ€žMaybe I could use them instead of apples?โ€. And I did! The cake turned out very scrumptiousย ๐Ÿ˜€

The rhubarb was a little bit sour, and the pears were really sweet, so they balanced each other out very well. If you want though, you can still use apples instead of pears. I also think that strawberries would be perfect for this recipe!

For this cake, I decided a crumble topping will be the best, but of course you can skip doing it and dust the cake with icing sugar after it’s baked. However, for me personally, the crumble topping was one of the most exciting parts of this cakeย ๐Ÿ˜†
